Martin Sherwood, founder of the EIS Association, was singled out for special praise at the EIS 25th Anniversary Awards Dinner at Banqueting House on 20 June
Rory Bremner, the event’s host, spoke of Martin’s dedication in supporting and growing the EIS Association over the last 25 years since the scheme was founded in 1994.
Martin has been responsible for building up the membership of EISA over the years, and has personally recruited all the Director Generals and Chairmen of the organisation, including the current Chairman Lord Howard Flight.
“The last 25 years has been an amazing journey, with the EIS having raised £2 billion and supported 30,000 start-up companies over that time. The EIS is arguably the most outstanding tax-efficient scheme in the world, which is cause for celebration. But our work is never done – we need to keep on recruiting talented people to assist us in our cause,” said Martin.
